My First News Entry!

I have actually decided to write a News entry, after some strong encouragement from Kody:) I really don’t know what to say so I will just tell you what’s going on in my life right now.

My last final exam was this morning at 8:30 and I am now ready to graduate! Graduation is next Saturday (December 13, 2003) at 10:00 am. I am excited, but I am also sad. I am especially sad that Breathitt is over. My classmates and I have grown pretty close over the last semester and there were some tears this morning. I’m sure there will be even more next Saturday!

As Kody has already posted, we are staying in Murray. I have gotten a job at Westside Veterinary Service, which is where I did my internship last summer. I really like the people there and enjoy being there. I will not however be a veterinary technician for now. For the rest of December I will be helping out in the Kennels and starting in January I will be doing reception work. Maybe this will help me to fine tune my people skills and give me some more confidence.

The third Saturday in January I will be taking the National Veterinary Technician Exam, in Frankfort. Even though I will not be a technician right now, I will still be working at a Veterinarian’s office and hopefully be a technician someday soon. I also have to take the GRE as soon as possible, because I will be starting to work on my Master of Agriculture graduate degree in January. I am only going to be taking one or maybe two classes a semester while Kody finishes his degree, but I want to go ahead and get started. This coming spring I will only be taking an internship type class and helping Melanie with the new Breathitt students. If you are wondering what Breathitt is then visit the website and find out what I have been up to for the last 4 months.

Other than school/work related news, we are quickly approaching Christmas! I have almost finished my shopping and am very excited about the holidays. Kristopher is big enough to enjoy and kind of understand everything and he is having lots of fun with the decorations.

I will post more news later I guess, I don’t know what else to say right now. Hope everyone is doing well and having a good December.
