That’s how it’s been around here the last few weeks. I don’t have time for a long picture post, but I’ll try to catch you up just a little and then maybe I’ll be able to start blogging more often.
We went to visit my Mom, Grandparents, and Uncle in Pennsylvania 2 weeks ago and had a good time there. We went to the outlet mall in Grove City (which is the best place to shop, EVER!) The next day we went to McConnell’s Mill State Park on Slippery Rock Creek. We hiked all around and got to see the inside of the old mill and I took lots of pretty pictures while trying to keep Kristopher from slipping down the “cliffs” into the dangerous creek; but we did have a great time there. It is so much cooler there then here in KY so we were able to hike without overheating; however, I was about ready to pass out by the time we finished all the hills! The third day we went to Wendell August Forge in Grove City and bought some beautiful coasters (which will not be used, except as art) and then on the way back stopped at a really cool toy store. The store is called Playthings, Etc. and is shaped like a stealth bomber airplane. It had some really cool toys and some that you would be able to find anywhere, but the best things about it was all the things they had set up to actually play with in the store. There were trains to mess with that had real smoke coming out of the engine, and a light up space station thing and a big table with cars set up. It was a lot of fun to look around and play. Other than that we just hung out and swam at the hotel and saw my Nana at the hospital everyday. On the way home we were able to stop in Louisville for a few hours and see my dad and other uncle and cousin. By the time we made it home we were tired and ready for a vacation, haha! It was a nice trip though and I did get some relaxing time too:)
Then, last Wednesday, Kristopher started Kindergarten! I was so excited and ready for him to go and then those first three days were really hard for me. He is having a great time though and has been having a good time. He was definitely ready for a weekend though…last night he said he didn’t want to go to school today. I’m so gald I was able to tell him he didn’t have to. I’m sure he’ll be ready to go back by Monday morning. Taylor and I have been having some nice alone time too and I have been able to teach her some things without Kristopher answering for her or doing whatever it is for her.
There hasn’t been much knitting or sewing lately, but I have to get started next week. The sale that my friend Suzie and I are doing is September 11-15, so I don’t have much time left to work on things. I do have several already done, but I’d like to be sure I have enough and won’t run out halfway through.
Soccer practices were supposed to start today, but they were canceled because of the heat index. That didn’t bother me one bit! It is terrible out there (95, feels like 98), but is actually much cooler than it has been all week. Hopefully it will start to cool off a little soon. I am ready for fall weather and leaving the doors open and wearing long sleeves! Fall is my favorite time of year – the colors are so beautiful and the weather is perfect too (once it actually arrives)!!
Hope you are all having a great week. Have to go…children are climbing on me!
