In keeping with my plan

If you’ll recall, my plan is to make as may gifts as I can this year instead of buying. This morning I sat down and made a rough list of things I’d like to make for my children. I picked out a couple things that I’m thinking of for other people, but those can’t be aired here for now! So, here’s my rough list that I may add to later. Hopefully I won’t subtract anything from it!

    Kristopher:

Pirate Quilt – just a simple patchwork quilt that I have most of the fabric for. I was supposed to have started this much earlier…
Winter Hat – he wants blue, and right now I’m kind of thinking of doing the Asymmetrical Cable Hat from One Skein. Or it may just end up being a plain hat.
Slippers – these have already been requested, so hopefully I have some yarn already to make them with! If not this is not an expensive project to buy some for.

    Taylor:

Quilt – this is finished except the binding and right now I’m really wishing I’d had the Sewing Center bind it for me…I should be able to finish this!
Topsy Turvy Doll – from Wee Wonderfuls. I love this book! I’ve always wanted one of these dolls with 2 heads and the skirt that flips. I hope this one is not a really hard project, but even so, she’s getting this for sure!
Cupcakes – this one I’m not sure about, but I think she would like these for her room. The cupcakes are knit and the pattern is in One Skein.
Colorful Brick Road Skirt – this skirt has been requested. It is from Sewing Bits & Pieces and is really cute. She wants it in blues, instead of yellows. I’m sure I can accomodate!

    Kameron:

Pirate Quilt – same as Kristopher’s…should have been started already.
Boy Doll – from Wee Wonderfuls. Not sure if I really want to make this for him, but we’ll see. It is a cute doll.
Apple Ornament – Fa la la la Felt has this cute ornament and he is an apple lover. Seriously he eats an apple a day, at least! he’s getting this.
Reversible Pants – from Handmade Beginnings. These pants are adorable and I’m thinking he needs something with some gray in it.

I also made a list of things I want to make for myself for Christmas – haha. I’m sure I will be last on my list, but maybe I’ll get to make at least one of these things:

Thrifted Trees from Fa la la la Felt – love these!
A Scrappy Planner – saw these for sale on etsy and want one. They just took a regular planner and covered it and then made cute dividers for the months and stuff. I think I would use this so much more than a plain one like I have. I would actually want to pull it out (probably to show off, but at least I would be using it!)
Legwarmers – I want some of these more than ever this year because I have a feeling I’m only going to want to wear my dresses and skirts soon. Even maternity pants are uncomfortable and my skirts are comfy. Can’t have cold legs though!
Laptop Tote – I have had one of these in my head for a few months to carry my laptop, but haven’t gotten around to making one yet. I want something cute for sure!

SO, what are you making for gifts this year? Or how are you saving money while everyone else is spending crazily? :)

Wow – looks like you’ll be busy! Maybe we can hang out sometime in January…

You know I won’t get it all done! I want to hang out before then anyway. :)

hmmm, that is a good question…right now I am reorganizing my stash of yarn, material, and notions to see just what I have. Somehow I have accumulated a small bin of those one yard projects from wal-mart and I want to work on those with the girls (some are stuffed animals and the girls can make them as gifts for each other or grandparents). I have some partially finished projects that I really want to finish pretty soon (I have had this afghan in mind for someone for over a year now, and have chunks of it done….though I am not sure I can get this done by christmas unless I pull some all-niters, haha)
